Happy new year from KidsCan

KidsCan has begun the year with a flying start, with an extra 16 schools being added to our Food for Kids programme. That brings the total number of schools involved in our programmes to 199.  There are however, still a number of schools on our waiting list.  There are 107 schools waiting for our support  - that's 21,000 kids who don't have the shoes, food and raincoats they need!   With your support, we can ensure that over 2011 the waiting list is cut back even more.

KidsCan School Colouring Competition

Term 4 has had our partner school students get into the Christmas spirit, designing the 2010 KidsCan Christmas E-Card.    Our first competition has proved extremely popular with the kids as we had over 500 entries from all over the country.  It was extremely hard to pick a winner but congratulations to Janae Van Panahon (year 6) from Glenavon Primary School in Blockhouse Bay for her very colourful Kiwiana themed entry.  For her hard work Janae has won a $50 Smiggle art pack for herself and a digital camera for her school.  Thanks FujiFilm for donating this great prize. Congratulations also to our highly commended entries.
